Takeshi Kitada
Takeshi Kitada joined SMBC MANUBANK in May 2023 and is Executive Director, Head of CEO Office. He comes to the bank from parent company Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) as part of a program that assigns senior-level Japanese managers to work for a period of time at an overseas subsidiary. Takeshi brings extensive senior-level experience in strategic planning and overall control in the banking sector.
His background includes more than 17 years with SMBC, 15 of which he spent working on Structured and Project Finance through his various positions in Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and Japan. In addition, he seconded to Japan Bank for International cooperation as a Japanese policy-based financial institution for two years in Tokyo, where he executed several transactions in Central and Latin America.
In Takeshi’s diverse background, he experienced a multitude of roles in differing sectors, including coverage of Infrastructure, Public-Private partnerships, Power & Renewable energy, and Energy & Natural resources.
Prior to his current position, Takeshi was responsible for business strategy, governance, and control as the head of planning. He helped develop the structured finance programs, led portfolio management for large-scale portfolio trading, and developed and promoted new products for the bank, including equity investment in the APAC region.
Takeshi started his career at SMBC in April of 2006, and he has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Meiji University in Tokyo, Japan.
