Anish Jacob
Anish Jacob joined the organization in June 2021 and is Managing Director, Chief Information Officer for SMBC MANUBANK. In this role, he leads teams responsible for technology and engineering across commercial and consumer banking divisions. Anish’s extensive experience includes creating technology vision and strategies, building high-performing teams, and transforming technology platforms with cutting-edge technologies.
As Head of Technology for Jenius Bank, Anish created a technology strategy and operating model, and built a highly talented technology team from the ground up. He also played an instrumental part leading many corporate (SMBC AD-wide) and commercial banking transformations to bring BHC compliance, productivity, and business growth.
Prior to joining SMBC MANUBANK, Anish served as Head of Engineering for business consumer mobile, payments, & digital experience at American Express, and led a global team developing a mobile and digital experience for millions of users (consumer, small- and medium-sized enterprises). Previous roles also include Head of Technology for a start-up and Engineering Manager/Consultant at IBM.
An avid innovator, Anish holds three granted patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from India, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Eller School of Business from the University of Arizona.
